A week ago today I had the pleasure of being in the pit at Glastonbury for Dolly Parton's performance on the Sunday afternoon. It was the busiest pit I think I have ever worked in and quite a mad surreal experience with the atmosphere. Even the security were dancing to 'Jolene'.

Last night, at Hyde Park, I experienced the opposite as a massive crowd crush halted the concert and many were treated within the pit.

When something like this happens it's time photographers have to make snap decisions, it is a news story, we do need to record it, the question is how and what. My aim with this shot was to show the melee in the pit without focusing or really showing any one individual and without intruding. 

I hope i succeeded.
